Spring 2011 fifteen electrical engineering students of the university of Twente will make a 10-day visit to the west coast of the United States. During this trip they will visit various companies, universities and other institutions to get acquainted with American technology and culture.

The United Stated was chosen as destination because of its rich history in the field of electrical engineering. The transistor, the IC (Integrated Circuit) and the microprocessor are but a few examples of American inventions in this field. These inventions lead the Unites States to be on the forefront of the digital revolution. In the past decennia the field of electrical engineering has seen significant changes and the focus on hardcore analog electronics has declined.
